If you take the FIFA Rankings into account then you can see how amazing South Africa's performance was against Mexico who are 17th.
South Africa qualified due to being the host and if the country was judged on performances leading up to the World Cup 2010, on paper they would not have stood a chance and this the public must appreciate, as their performance so far relating to stats is the performance of the tournament so far.

This story is absolutely unbelievable that people can have such a low regard for life and if anyone thought that we are a civilisation then we are missing the civil part completely.
Here is part of the story which is from Colombia
Who to kill? Colombia army picks soldier's brother

The latest scuffles with the London Torch bearers for the Olympic Relay; to me, is nothing more than attention seeking individuals who now know that everything shall receive coverage.
These people have had years to complain about the very fact that China was going to be hosting the Olympics. But not a murmur, being South African and having endured the 'spock of Apartheid' I continually find the irony in what the World determines worth creating an issue about.

Well thank you lads of the lowest denominator, you have done the quest to rid SA of a stereotypical portrayal no favours. During the World Cup I defended SA vigorously when the Splitting Image video appeared depicting South Africans as racist idiots. Welcome back that take of SA, you have done wonders for the image portrayed.

Well not exactly a brilliant title to start off with however we will soon get round to chatting about the title but first I need to take in a deep breath to signify I can progress further with some oxygen to the brain or I shall be accused of being brain dead again

Well it seems the Aussies will stop at nothing to give Lleyton Hewitt a chance in the Australia Tennis Open
Marcos Baghdatis of Cypros who plays Hewitt in the 3rd round is coming under a barrage from the media being accused of being racist for chanting 'Turks Out' at a barbeque in 2007

So oft has the expression; "youth is wasted on the young", been bandied around without making any impact on those it has been directed at, however as life progresses we seem to find ourselves not having enough hours in the day.

The recent Finland shooting will have a profound affect on the country and its population. And then the introspection may begin towards how all this happened and why. This is no everyday happening and a special parliamentary sitting was called on the evening of the shooting.

An amazing tournament with South Africa crowned as World Champions, it couldn't have been better or could it? For some reason certain elements reminded me of when a little kid plonked a stone onto our daughter's head and the boy's mother made out it was due to our daughter not making him feel welcome and so the bottom line is that it was our fault.

As some of you may know, I am a big fan of sport and particularly athletics. During the past week I have been somewhat busy doing reports and results for Time-to-Run. All in the coverage of the World Athletic Championships in Osaka. In 2005, I was part of the Media at the Helsinki Champs and the experience was grand to say the least.
