I'm (lost) already which is a pity as I think we'll be in Italy more or less the same time as you.

Whereabouts exactly? Are you driving there or fly-drive? I might know someone who can help.

it'll be our 1st time ever , to those parts - IF we actually get there ;
probably : fly/drive , anywhere Tavira to Lagos , IF mrs. can make her mind , about priorities and attractions...the really worrying thing is : from the Brit-expats we already know , who actually live down there , we'll probably Hate the lifestyle , attitudes , pomp , the costs and how-do-you-do's....( ??? )
- much the same , as I can say about retiring to Espana , although the complaints ( and the few remaining real positives ) about there appear somewhat different.... ;
now , contrary to afore-stated concerns , certainly France , e.g. Languedoc , somewhere like Beziers-Agde would be so much better hols - or even further inland , towards Carcassone , Limoux : without a shadow of a doubt , on sooo many counts !
Except that at our , somewhat advanced age/s , now our holidays have to have purposes other that actually holidaying - e.g. researching-finding some xyz sunnier place which also needs , first and foremost : to come up to imaginary scratch and tick enough boxes , to encourage us to eventually re-locate/retire to thereabouts....
( so then , better : let's not talk Harare , this time around !!! )
