South African CV

I don't know if this is the right forum but please just be patient with me.

Does anybody have a copy of the format that they use for CV's in South Africa?

This is really really urgent and I would appreciate any help I can get. Even websites will be great.

thank you!

Hi Surita,

On most of the SA websites there is a facility that you could create a CV. Sometimes it's worth the effort to register with them and then create a CV. Even if it is just to see what the format is.

Here is a few sites :
www.jobmail.co.za
www.careerjunction.co.za
www.pnet.co.za

On the following sites, just go to the careers/jobs section and I am sure there will be something. I know the first one definitely have loads of advice on how to do CV's, interviews etc.
www.iafrica.com
www.mweb.co.za

Good luck

I use a hybrid European/South African CV format which seems to work well.

Two pages listing in order, personal details, work experience from most recent backwards, education and references. So far it seems to have worked very well.

I would imagine even in SA the trend must now be toward shorter CV's, unless you are a specialist in something?

Specialist!

Thank you Bushbaby but the only thing I'm a specialist in is surfing the web!

Thank you for the info though. Will just have to knuckle down tonight and do it.

Surita, if you email me at bushbaby@voetsek.co.uk I can forward a copy of the CV format I use and you can then decide if it suits your purposes or not.

Thank you Bushbaby but I've put one together last night. I was kind of urgent and had to go out last night.

Hi Surita

when you finished putting everything together .. any chance of an article we could use for the future if users ask the same question.

It would go under :
