Good Bye peace

or is it a time for miracles

the Palestinian public have made their voices and intent heard. There goes the US funding, which they receive a hefty amount of.

Probably, what Iran wanted

Or ( cynically ) : playing according to U.S./British scenario...

...which prefers a destabilised Middle East , using as their main pawn Israel
( which couldn't sustain herself as an indepent modern country otherwise , were it not for billions from the U.S.A. ) :
as & when & how they so please...???

count the costs ... €300 million a year is pumped into the Palestine by the EU

the US also pumps in a major amount ...

How in heavens name can there be any money given to Hamas if they do not denounce violence?

this is such a sticky wicket .. listening to some of Hamas voters you can hear their frustration with the present Palestinian authorities ... it is so sad for the people who simply want to live in peace in the region

will it be possible now

These extremists winning power and their benefactors Iran looking to obtain nuclear technology - what a great mix for the end of the world

No, but it suits the likes of Iran and all the other extremist nutters out there.

The Palestinians attack Israel - then the Israeli's will stomp on them .......... they will have no-one to bleat to then as the palestinians themselves put these extremist thugs in to power.

Hopefully the US and the UK/Eu will pull all funding to these people until they not only denounce terror activities and agree to recognise Israel .......... but actually show that they mean it.

Bang............................
Hamas have already stated that they will not disarm....until occupied Palestinian territory has been returned to them. But what do they refer to as Palestinian territory....non of the occupied ground outside of Israel was theirs to start with in the first place. If this refers to Israel itself...they are going to have to take it.....As to Gaza and the West Bank, neither were Palestinian in the first place. Gaza was part of Egypt prior to it being taken along with the Sinai Peninisular, the West Bank was Jordanian territory....which the Jordanians said the Palestinians could have AFTER it had already been taken by the Israelis...hardly theirs to give anyway.....
They are not going to recognize Israel....Israel is in flux and open to decisions being made by hardliners who will not hesitate to give Hamas a hiding. Let iran enter the fray and all sorts of hell will break loose as the Israelis will wreck Irans nuclear facilities as they did in Iraq.....The only country that could rein in the Israelis, is the US, as they have done countless times before.
As to Israel and US funding...much of that comes from the private sector in the US. Government funding is not as much as we would think and a lot is in joint trade and development funding as the US gets a lot of technology from Israel from antenna positioning systems to advanced avionics for its fighter aircraft....so much of the aid actually never gets to Israel as cash.

I just happen to know a few people in Israel ( and Middle East )

...and it's : no fun , believe me , living under everyday siege-mentality conditions in Israel ( so , one could say that the others are winning already ? the war of nerves ? );
the compulsory army-service for men and women is a killer , everbody cigarette-smokes themselves into a frenzy ,
drugs are big , the stress-levels are incredible,
lots of youngsters wish to leave ( aargh , but the State of Israel has deals going , with U.S. and RSA and others , not to grant visas and residences lightly ) ,
on the Economist's Index , Israel used to be 10th or 12th , but has since fallen well-below ( to 38th , on par with the mess that Brasil is ! )...it's trouble wholesale all around and benefits no-one in the Middle East but war-mongers and arms-traders ; the result of continuous ultimate hypocrisy of U.S. and U.K who fool the most of us , by so demanding democracy in Iraq , but having no need for any such demands upon (their mates ) Saudis or Jordanians...it's a poor show for the whole civilised world , and for Europe's exports to the region ...the story of the latest history : Africa and ( big parts of ) Middle East stagnating , at best , while communist-dictatorship China is soon to overtake France and U.K as economic power - and the western world has "leaders" in the style of Chirac , Berlusconi , Bush , Blair ...none of whom you would trust , with a 3-pound note , hey ?

I'd rather have Blair ruling my country than Hamas!
