Visa Application for UK resident in SA - ll3ctre - 09-01-2008

My boyfriend is currently an IT specialist living in the UK. He is looking to come over to South Africa and I would like to know for what Visa he should be applying and if their are preferred consulting agencies he can speak to?

Thanks

Hi and welcome ll3ctre

I take it he has a valid British passport? If so and his passport is endorsed as a British Citizen then he does not need a visa for stays up to 90 days.

If the person has a British passport but is not an endorsed British citizen living in the UK or a British Dependent Territories Citizen, or British Overseas Territories citizen then they are only allowed to stay for 30 days without a visa

I hope this helps

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

He has a british passport and is an endorsed citizen. Can he apply for work during this period and/or is he allowed to work during this period?

Does he need to apply for a Quota or Non-Quota work permit?

Kind Regards
Louise

Hi

If he wishes to work full time, then he will have to apply for a work permit, yes.
