Vsmon.exe
#1
Pics or FB or anyone actually can you help please?

Do you know what "vsmon.exe" is? I've looked under "Processes" under my Windows Task Manager and it says this is taking up 117k memory.......I don't know what it is and whether I need it or not.

I've a feeling it could be slowing my PC down?? :o

vsmon.exe is part of the ZoneAlarm firewall...

Do you have ZoneAlarm installed?

However, read this, "At this time There's quite a few viruses running around using this filename!"

I have ZoneAlarm installed & am now experiencing the same problem, ie. vsmon.exe is taking up all my CPU space & making my pc almost grind to a halt. There are pages & pages of forums on Google about it but I was hoping someone here may be able to help me in a language I can understand. :p

Should I just uninstall Zone Alarm & if so, what other free firewall is good?

Any help will be greatly appreciated as at the moment I'm surfing without protection. :yikes:

Hi Venus, uninstall Zone Alarm and use the Windows firewall

this is what I did after I had problems with Zone Alarm

however I use F-secure for my anti-virus and my Netgear rooter (internet external box) has a built in Firewall as well
