Sue Johnson to share cancer experience
#12
An early good morning!

I have been bought a box of paper face masks by hubby. Tried them on last night and he said i looked like an extra from Grey's Anatomy......these things will be all the rage at the Olympics!

Jangar, I have worked throughout my recovery from surgery, following the chemo and that for me personally is how it should be. I was given a 3 week sick note from the surgeon but I was not sick. I had discomfort from the op and that meant I could not drive but there was nothing wrong with my brain or my hands so I worked via my lap top and the wonders of 3G :tonguepop:

On a serious note, I do pace myself and I am not going to put myself at risk BUT, I am not an invalid, I am not ill (like flu). The Cancer does not make me ill, the chemo does....it has side effects that are some times very un-pleasant, sometimes a bit un-pleasant, but mostly can be dealt with by the medication you are given.

So for me, and remember this is just how I have decided to deal with things is that life goes on as normal. I am not a victim, I did not bring this on myself. I have a firm and solid faith that enables me to walk this walk knowing there is a purpose, knowing that I am not alone and knowing that I will have a full recovery.

I had total peace in hospital before surgery, I had that same peace as I walked out of hospital and today, the peace is still with me.

Sure it is not an easy thing to deal with but I have found that the way I deal with it, is the way others are able to deal with me. No secrets, no pretending just open communication as to what is happening, and if I feel like $#@!, I say so and either go home, or, if i am at home, I lay down and rest.

I see the chemo as my best shot to get any of the little critters that decided to migrate and if that means six months on dis-comfort to know i have been given the best chance, then as i have said before.....bring it on!

So, cup of tea in hand and dry biscuit.....I begin another day!

Take care and thank you for your thoughts and support

Sue

Jangar Wrote:Hej Sue,

Just want to let you know that you're in our thoughts and prayers.

I was busy typing out a longer reply just now when Internet Explorer crashed :viking: and unfortunately lost it.

I was saying something along the lines that it was a pleasure to read your positive post as positiveness helps in mega dosis Smile

And then I was saying that if you aren't able to stay away from people, which we all know you aren't, to please always remember to wear a Michael Jackson / Japanese flu mask as they may just help to save your life.

We wish you a speedy recovery and keep up the good spirits as that helps "MEGA" lots.

Venus and I

PS no:mrburns: for you till you're fully recovered and out of the danger zone !!!!!
