Sue Johnson to share cancer experience
#27
Hi Rita

Ps 23 has been with me since the day of the phone call to give me my results. I find the words deeply personal and a reminder of His promise, never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.

I have been asked a few times, "Why is this happening to you when you have done so much for others?". My response, "Why not me?".

Life will have it's challenges. Life will have seasons both good and bad. Life will sometimes seem unfair. BUT, the message is clear He will walk with me through this.

Rita, I have never asked God to heal me. I did once ask him to lift the queasyness so I could eat my supper. Big Grin I have asked God to be with me throughout, to help me face what is before me and to show me the purpose of this challenge and do you know something, He is doing that every single day.

I have been surrounded by the most wonderful support through visits, emails, telephone calls and unexpected gifts. My neighbour who adopted one of the strays I rescued from the valley delivered to my home the most stunning bunch of yellow roses. I have a wall painted 'African orange' and the yellow of those roses and the green of the leaves looked absolutely stunning and those flowers continue to remind me every time I look at them of God's grace, His continual presence and the many ways He brings others along side in a time of need.

I read Jen's thread from Cheffie's link and it was wonderful to see how so many rallied round just when she needed the 'lift'. God does that often hey!

Sue

Pronkertjie Wrote:[COLOR="Purple"]Good morning Sue....

You are just so funny! Wow, you actually have a change to look like Posh Spice .... only on the one side :tapped: :haha:

I saw some photo's of young friends here at work where they shaved all there hair off. Actually her whole family did - made quite a ceremony of that. When I asked what it is all about she said that her Mom had chemo and lost all her hair so the whole family with their spouses shaved their hair to identify with her. I was so touched by it.

Just make sure you put your glasses on first before the Tina Turner.... you might just put it on the wrong way round and end up looking like.... Ozzy Ozbourne! Smile

Wish I was there to make you a cuppa .... and maybe a scone. Smile

Lots of love and may Ps 23 be your portion....
